Description

Homemade turkey stock for soups and sauces.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 turkey carcasses
  • 10 cups water
  • 2 onions, quartered
  • 4 carrots, chopped
  • 4 celery stalks, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Place turkey carcasses in a large pot.
  2. Add water, onions, carrots, celery, garlic, bay leaf, and peppercorns.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for 4-6 hours.
  5. Skim off any foam that rises to the surface.
  6. Strain the stock through a fine mesh sieve.
  7. Discard solids and cool the stock.
  8. Store in airtight containers in the fridge or freezer.

Notes

  • Use leftover turkey bones for flavor.
  • Feel free to add herbs like thyme or parsley.
  • Stock can be used in various recipes.
