A hearty southern five layer beef casserole packed with flavor and comfort.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can corn, drained
- 1 cup salsa
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 3 cups tortilla chips
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
- Add black beans, corn, salsa, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper to the beef. Stir well.
- In a baking dish, layer half of the tortilla chips at the bottom.
- Spread half of the beef mixture over the chips.
- Sprinkle with one cup of cheddar cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining chips, beef mixture, and cheese.
- Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can add jalapeños for extra heat.
- Serve with sour cream and guacamole.
- This casserole can be prepared in advance and baked later.
