Description

A delicious twist on traditional lasagna, using peppers as a healthy alternative.


Ingredients

  • 4 large bell peppers
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds.
  3. In a skillet, cook the ground beef until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Mix the cooked beef with ricotta cheese and half of the marinara sauce.
  5. Stuff the peppers with the beef and cheese mixture.
  6. Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish and pour the remaining marinara sauce over them.
  7. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the peppers are tender and cheese is bubbly.

Notes

  • Feel free to use turkey or chicken instead of beef.
  • Top with fresh basil for added flavor.
