A simple recipe for Irish soda bread scones that are quick to make and delicious.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cold butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
- Add cold butter and mix until crumbly.
- Stir in buttermilk until combined.
- Add raisins if desired and mix gently.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead lightly.
- Shape into a round and cut an ‘X’ on top.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes.
Notes
- Best served warm.
- Can add caraway seeds for extra flavor.
- Store in an airtight container.
