Ingredients

- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon flavoring (e.g., vanilla, peppermint)
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- In a saucepan, mix sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt.
- Cook over medium heat until the mixture reaches 250°F (hardball stage).
- Remove from heat and stir in flavoring and butter.
- Allow to cool slightly, then butter your hands and pull the taffy until it becomes light and airy.
- Cut into pieces and wrap in wax paper.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container.
- You can use food coloring for different colors.
- Be careful with hot sugar syrup.
