Baked Ziti is a classic Italian-American dish made with ziti pasta, marinara sauce, and cheese.

- 1 pound ziti pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese.
- Mix in the meat sauce until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into a baking dish and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
- This dish can be made ahead of time, refrigerate before baking.
- You can substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
